Check out Eli's Eggs! A new video made by confetti egg master Eli Dayen and his mom, Jill Brown.

Confetti eggs! They’re back, thanks to the Loa family (Nursery School alumnae and Religious School family)!

What are confetti eggs, you ask? Confetti eggs are hollowed out eggshells that are filled with confetti. You can purchase them at the Purim Carnival and immediately throw them at your favorite people. Last year we sold 2,000! This is a tremendous fundraiser for the Temple’s schools – so get stuffin’!

Free Eggs – Come and Get Them! Help yourself to the free eggs in the refrigerator.  You are welcome to pick up as many cartons as you can use and a bag of confetti and return the shells filled with confetti. When you have a dozen confetti eggs, drop off the carton in the Day School office. Label the carton with your name, phone number and child’s class. You will receive four Purim Carnival game tickets for every dozen eggs!

When making confetti eggs this year, please keep in mind that we strongly encourage you to use paper scraps, such as leftover hole punches, instead of new confetti, and to please use your eggs; do not waste them.

Now, more than ever, people throughout the world are without food, and to simply discard of the egg inside the shell is wasteful, and not necessary. Click here for some egg-celent recipes!

Have fun and Happy Purim!

Here’s how you fill the shells:
1. Make a hole about the size of a nickel in the small end of an egg. The easiest way to do this is to chip off small pieces of shell with the point of a knife.
2. Pour out the egg.
3. Rinse the egg shell, shake out the excess water, and place it upside down on a paper towel to dry. This is important – the egg shell must be clean and dry before it gets filled with confetti, or it will get moldy!
4. When the shell is dry, fill it with confetti (about ¾ full is fine) and place a piece of scotch tape over the hole. Return the shell to the carton.
